Macro friendly Greek chicken tostadas that are loaded with protein. This is a quick and easy recipe for any meal or appetizer.

The recipe was inspired by my Greek Smoked Chicken on this site because it is absolutely amazing. This recipe combines two different cuisines to create a new twist on a traditional tostada.

How to Make Greek Chicken Tostadas?

- Add chicken, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion & sweet pepper.
- Serve with some tzatziki, fresh cilantro, green onions, and feta cheese.
Substitutions
If you are cooking for yourself or anyone who has special dietary restrictions here are a few different ways that you can substitute some of the ingredients to fit their needs.
- Tzatziki Sauce- If you can't find this at a grocery store you can make your own .
- Gluten Free- Use a gluten free pita instead of a low carb pita.
- Vegetarian - Add extra hummus and plain garbanzo beans instead of the chicken.
- Dairy Free- Use a dairy free pita bread or tortilla. Dairy free cheese instead of feta. For the tzatziki sauce you can use any greek salad dressing that is dairy free to add some different flavors that compliment the tostada.
If you are using ingredients different from the ones listed in the recipe it will undoubtedly change the nutritional values.
Macro Friendly Variations
This is a macro friendly recipe that is easy to adjust the ingredients to fit your macro goals for the day.
- Protein- add extra chicken or use less.
- Carbs- for more carbs use a higher carb pita bread or add a side of cut up pita bread with hummus or tzatziki sauce on the side. For a lower carb option I like using Josephs pita or Cut Da Carb.
- Fat - to increase fat, just add more hummus or some diced avocado on top. To reduce the fat use less hummus.
Equipment
- Griddle or Frying Pan
- Knife
- Cutting Board
Storage
Store the wet ingredients (Peppers, tomato, onion) separately from the dry ingredients (Pita)in the fridge, and recombine when ready. Good for 2-3 days.
These ingredients don't stand up well to freezing.
Pro Tip
Occasionally I try to make cooking easy, by making large batches of cooked chicken or other main proteins. Recipes like this one are a good way to use pre-cooked chicken.
